Valentina Mendoza is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Change Agent Teacher Leader. Valentina teaches 9th-12th grade music at Farragut Career Academy. She has taught many different music courses including electronic music, band, piano, DP music, and modern band. Valentina also leads the digital advertising team, which runs the school’s social media sites and website and creates graphics and materials to help promote school events. Similarly, Valentina sponsored a web design club where students contributed to digital advertising projects and formed the school’s first podcast. She is a 2011 Golden Apple Scholar and participates in teacher panels and mentoring teachers in training. Valentina graduated from VanderCook College of Music with a BA in K-12 Music Education.
