Lemuel Vasquez is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow and 8th grade reading teacher at Ann Richards Middle School in Palmview, Texas Lemuel previously taught high school English and dyslexia courses, led district-level literacy initiatives, and chaired English language arts departments. He was recognized as a Texas Education Agency (TEA) Teacher Incentive Allotment educator (2025), appointed to the TEA Strong Foundations Literacy Committee (2024), and selected as a TEA Rangefinding Committee member to shape statewide assessment standards (2023). Concurrently, Lemuel served as a Teacher Leaders Program Facilitator with the American Federation of Teachers (2021-2023) and now leads community engagement initiatives as a union-affiliated advocate for equitable education reform. He earned his BA in English from the University of Texas at Austin and MA in educational administration from Lamar University.
