Sasha Wakefield is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and high school math teacher at Clio High School in Clio, Michigan. She serves as Department Chair and National Honor Society Advisor. Sasha has served as an instructor at the Golden Apple Foundation, exploring the potential of AI in classrooms and working with fellow regional teachers to increase teacher retention in Michigan (2024-2025). She was awarded Region 5 Michigan Teacher of the Year (2024-2025), Clio Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year (2024), and Michigan Association of Gifted Children Distinguished Service Award (2024). Sasha was on the Michigan Teacher Leadership Advisory Council (2024-2025) and is a member of the Texas Instruments T3 TLC Teacher Leader Cadet Institute. She has a bachelor’s in secondary education from Ferris State University, a master’s degree in education from Concordia University-Portland, and an EdS in education leadership, including an administrator certificate with central office endorsement, from the University of Michigan-Flint.
