Ruthie Walls is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow. Ruthie is a 10th-12th grade teacher leader at Little Rock Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. She focuses on teaching students in the areas of African-American history and AP African-American studies to promote equity and diversity. Ruthie serves as a Polly M. Jackson Master Economics teacher, a College Board Consultant, and a reader for the new AP African American studies course, and she sits on the Federal Reserve Advisory Committee. Ruthie was named Teacher of the Year three times and received the Bessie B. Moore Award for Excellence in Teaching Economics. She earned a BA in psychology and an MA in secondary education from the University of Arkansas, as well as a building-level administrator and EdS from Arkansas State University.
