Kasondra Walsh is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and kindergarten teacher at Emerson Elementary in Oakland, California. She also supports upper elementary students in her school’s Rainbow Club. Kasondra began her career as a TK-5 science teacher and has taught dance and costume design performing arts summer school programs. She completed Alameda County Office of Education’s Integrated Learning Specialist Program and Project Zero Classroom through Harvard University (2018). Kasondra supported the growth of Oakland Education Association’s Early Elementary Education Caucus, as well as served as co-chair of the district-union transitional kindergarten/kindergarten joint committee. Since 2022, she has been a member of her union’s bargaining team and was a 2025 National Education Association’s Representative Assembly delegate. Kasondra earned a BA in integrative biology, dance and performance studies, and theatre and performance studies from the University of California, Berkeley; and master’s in urban education from Holy Names University.
