Garfield Warren

Garfield Warren is a 10th/11th grade teacher of APWorld and AP African American Studies at Denver School of Science and Technology-Green Valley Ranch High School in Denver, Colorado. He focuses on teaching children in areas of English language development and multilingual education in order to foster their self-efficacy. To also help develop cognitive and reasoning skills that allow scholar’s to function equally in their native language, as well as other languages. He was chosen to participate in the Urban Leaders Fellowship, a summer program for professionals from diverse backgrounds and experiences who work with local government and nonprofits to improve communities. He collaborated with Colorado Representative Jennifer Bacon (District 7) to establish comprehensive support services and tax benefits for BIPOC communities. He worked with the non-profit organization Gary Community Ventures, leading an inaugural summer program to help develop leadership and advocacy skills, as well as personal goals for Denver youth as part of the organization’s Piton Fellows program. 

He earned a BS in Public Law and American Government from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI, and a Master’s of Public Administration with a focus on State Agencies from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI.
