April Watson is a 2025-2026 Mississippi Delta Change Agent. She is an 11th and 12th-grade Advanced Placement English literature and composition instructor, American College Testing (ACT) Coach, Senior Beta Club Sponsor, and teacher mentor at Humphreys County High School in Belzoni, Mississippi. April builds students’ literacy skills, including a focus on vocabulary. She received the John W. Harris Educator of Excellence Award for National Beta Club (2019-2020 and 2022-2023) and was selected to serve as a teacher mentor at Delta State University (2024-2025). April earned her BA in English from Tougaloo College, MAT in secondary education from Jackson State University, and EdS in educational administration and supervision from Delta State University.
