Jessica Werntz is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Senior Policy Fellow and intervention specialist at Highland Elementary School in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. She is an active member of the district-wide Multi-Tiered System of Supports team and serves on the Federal Program and Professional Development Committee. Previously, Jessica was a 3rd grade level teacher leader. She received the “Be The E” award from her superintendent (2025), which is given to staff members who embody the traits of a Life Ready Graduate, and was honored by her principal with the “Be Uncommon” award (2021-2022). She also received the Educator of the Month award from Pennsylvania Senator James Malone (2025). Jessica earned a BA in elementary education from Shippensburg University, MA in language and literacy education with reading specialist certification from Millersville University, and MA in educational leadership with principal certification from Pennsylvania State University.
