R.J. West is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and is a 4th Grade teacher and PSSA tutor at South Fayette Intermediate School. R.J. began his teaching career in 2018 as a substitute teacher and has since taught various grades between 4th and 8th. R.J. served as a co-sponsor of the SHOUT (Social Handprints Overcoming Unjust Treatment) club and was honored by his students in the 2022 Guru Vandana (Reverence for the Teacher) event. R.J. holds his 4-6 all subjects, 7-8 English certification from the state of Pennsylvania. R.J. earned his Secondary Social Studies degree from Slippery Rock University.
