Stanley Wheeler is a 2023-2024 Michigan Teacher Leadership Collaborative Member and a 4th grade social studies/science educator and mentor teacher at John R. King Academic and Performing Arts Academy in Detroit, Michigan. Stanley is a liaison with several local colleges and inspires teachers to be global “change agents” in the educational arena. He is also a member of John R. King’s Union Committee. Stanley has served in numerous leadership roles, including principal, dean of students, curriculum coordinator, and ESL facilitator during his tenure as an educator. He was awarded the Spirit of Detroit Award for Outstanding Leadership in 2005. Stanley is CEO of GAMBARU Educational Consulting, LLC and is affiliated with Michigan Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. Stanley earned his BA in elementary education from the University of Dayton (OH), and his MEd in educational leadership: administrative credential and educational specialist degree in bilingual bicultural education from Wayne State University.
