Ivy Wilcher is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Indiana Policy Fellow, and a high school Special Education Coordinator, teacher, and Dual Credit Instructor in Northwest Indiana. She provides support, education, and resources to students and parents of children with Individual Education Plans and 504 Plans. Ivy was awarded the Tri-Creek Education Foundation Grant (2017-2018); Ascend Math Model Classroom Educator (2018-2019); and Excel Center High School Staff Member of the Term (2019-2020). Ivy transitioned to teaching while pursuing her Master’s Degree. She landed her first teaching job as a Teacher of Intense Intervention in 2016. Since, Ivy has provided special education services to students in grades Pre-K-12. She is currently completing Speech Communications course work with Teach Dual Credit Indiana. She earned her BS in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in African American Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MSED in Education from Purdue University in Hammond, Indiana.
