Quantrell Willis is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow, and a teacher on special assignment working as an engagement specialist for African American students and their families at Val Verde Unified School District in Perris, California. Quantrell focuses on facilitating the African American Student Success Committee along with providing professional development opportunities for teachers that center on the engagement and success of African American students. Before his current role, Quantrell served as a special education teacher in the secondary setting and an associate dean of students. Quantrell served on the Education Advisory Council through The Education Trust—West and was a California Teachers Association Ethnic Minority Early Identification & Development Program Participant (2020-2021). Quantrell earned his BA in Sociology/African American Studies and MEd in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville. He earned his Education Specialist Instruction Credential through Riverside County Office of Education Center for Teacher Preparation.
