Mia Witt is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texa Policy Fellow who teaches functional living skills at César Chávez Learning Center in Dallas, where she leads the Special Education Department and facilitates the campus food pantry. Mia was 2022-2023 Dallas ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year Finalist and received the inaugural Distinguished Special Education Quarterly Award in May 2018. In September 2018, she earned the title of Distinguished Teacher through the Teacher Excellence Initiative. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a BS in interdisciplinary studies and is a Project Communicate scholar of Autism Intervention and Augmentative and Alternative Communication at the University of North Texas.
