Mia Witt is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow who teaches functional living skills at César Chávez Learning Center in Dallas. She also leads the Special Education Department and facilitates the campus food pantry. Mia was an Elementary Teacher of the Year Finalist in Dallas Independent School District (2022-2023), received the inaugural Distinguished Special Education Quarterly Award (2018), and was Distinguished Teacher through the Teacher Excellence Initiative (2018). She has a BS in interdisciplinary students from the University of North Texas and is pursuing Project Communicate’s Scholar of Autism Intervention and Augmentative and Alternative Communication at the University of North Texas.
