Madeline Wood is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Illinois Senior Policy Fellow. She is 5th grade general music and 6th-12th grade band teacher at United Intermediate and United Junior/Senior High School in Monmouth, Illinois. Madeline was named West Central Illinois Teacher of the Year (2023), received the Alpha Delta Kappa Illinois Excellence in Education Award, Galesburg Young Professionals Network 20 Under 40 Award, and Illinois Elementary School Association Class Act Award. She earned a BM in flute performance and music education from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, MME in music education from Northern State University, and is pursuing a doctorate in education policy, organization, and leadership with a concentration in diversity and equity at the University of Illinois.
