Madeline Wood is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Senior Policy Fellow and a 6-12 band and music appreciation teacher at United Junior High and High School outside of Monmouth, Illinois. She also teaches woodwind tech to pre-service music educators at Bradley University and Flute at Knox College. She is committed to supporting and celebrating LGBTQ+ students and staff. Madeline was named the 2022-2023 West Central Illinois Teacher of the Year. Madeline serves as District 2 president for the Illinois Music Education Association and co-chair for the Illinois Education Association LGBTQ+ Committee. She earned her BA in music education and flute performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and an MME in music education from Northern State University.
