Bret Wright is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. Bret is an elementary school assistant principal at Northeast Elementary, in Parker, Colorado. He focuses on children with challenges requiring mild to moderate interventions and teacher literacy coaching to ensure all students have access to quality instruction. He has held many leadership and teaching roles, including department chair, team lead, building leadership team, and reading/literacy interventionist. Bret has been recognized as a Team of the Year member at Discovery Canyon Campus in Academy District 20, Colorado Springs. Bret has been a classroom teacher since 2007, recently transitioning to assistant principal. He has been a teacher leader in his building and has been part of his district’s social studies implementation committee. He earned his BA in English literature, his MA in curriculum and instruction, and his certification in educational leadership from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
