Yazmin Dalsimer is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow who teaches 1st grade at Catalyst Academy in Pittsburgh. Previously, she worked with Carnegie Learning as a Math Specialist, providing professional development to Pittsburgh Public Schools teachers. Yazmin is a 2007 NYC Teach For America Alum who taught math for 10 years at KIPP Academy Middle School in the South Bronx, where she served as the 8th grade level chair. Yazmin became a teacher because she was inspired by her own childhood teachers who changed the course of her life. She graduated from Pitzer College with a BA in Psychology and received her MEd in Childhood Education from Pace University.
