Andy Young is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus New Mexico Policy Fellow and 1st grade teacher at Marie Hughes Community School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He serves on the school’s instructional council and is a member of the community schools team. Ady previously taught grades K-5 in the U.S. and overseas and taught methods courses for the College of Education at the University of New Mexico. He has been awarded several grants (2004, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024) from the Albuquerque Public Schools Foundation. Andy earned a BA in elementary education and MA in language, reading and culture from the University of Arizona.
