Haley Young is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and is an 8th-grade English Language Arts teacher, Wellness coordinator, and Jr. Beta Club advisor at Long Beach Middle School in Long Beach. She focuses on creating a class and school environment that champions self-advocacy, supports peer accountability, and expects only the highest standard of perfect effort. Haley was named Long Beach Middle School’s Teacher of the Year (2021-22). Haley began her teaching career in the higher education realm focusing on student success and leadership. She earned her BA in Psychology from the University of West Florida, an MEd in Student Affairs Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from William Carey University.
