Emmanuel Zakariya is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Harmony Teacher Advisory Cabinet Member. Emmanuel is a high school social studies and career and technical education law enforcement teacher at Harmony Science Academy in Carrollton, Texas. At the campus level, he is the social studies department head and a member of the faculty advisory committee. At the district level, he is the district curriculum writer and SCL for law enforcement pathway. He writes curriculum for three out of four law courses and reviews student learning objectives for the law enforcement classes. He was voted Leader of the Pack and Teacher of the Year. He is a certified teacher with Texas Teachers and is English as a second language certified. Emmanuel currently serves with the US Navy as a reservist. He holds a BL (JD equivalent) from Nigerian Law School and an LLB (BS equivalent) from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria.
