Diana Zepeda

Diana Zepeda is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Policy Fellow and 2nd grade bilingual teacher at Haugan Elementary in Chicago. She focuses on supporting newcomer students’ bicultural development by implementing culturally responsive teaching strategies. Diana previously served as the 2nd Grade Team Lead for the Climate and Culture Committee. She received the $3,000 ROTARY/One CPS Opportunity Grant (2024-2025) to purchase leveled Spanish books and was selected as an Instituto Mundo Verde Fellow, where she continued to deepen her knowledge in dual language education, special education, and inquiry-based teaching practices. Diana earned her BA in psychology from Concordia University and MA in early childhood education, with Spanish and bilingual endorsements, from Roosevelt University. She is pursuing her second MA in dual language teacher leadership at Roosevelt University.
