Alisha Kannarr

Alisha is the National Research Associate at Teach Plus, where she will support state-focused research across Teach Plus regions and serve as a resource to Teach Plus teacher leaders and staff to help them better understand existing research, develop their own research projects, and conduct primary and secondary research. Alisha will also support national research initiatives, including our work around teacher diversity and early childhood education.

Before joining Teach Plus, Alisha worked with the EASEL Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education, assisting with research on social-emotional learning standards and programs. Prior to that she taught in Japan for eight years, teaching English and developing community programming as part of the JET Program and fostering students’ 21st century skills in an afterschool program. After returning to the states, she worked with international students as an admissions advisor in Dallas, TX and pursued graduate studies with a focus on education research, social-emotional development, and the connection between research, policy, and practice.

She holds a BA in English from Austin College and a Master’s in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
