Alisha is the Director, Policy and Advocacy at Teach Plus, where she will strengthen the systems and tools that support our policy fellowship leaders and ensure Teach Plus is effectively tracking, learning from, and narrating the impact of our teacher-led advocacy work. Alisha will also partner with external subject matter experts to evaluate the effectiveness of regional policy strategies and tactics, and bring new insights, resources, and research to advance regional impact.
Before joining Teach Plus, Alisha worked with the EASEL Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education, assisting with research on social-emotional learning standards and programs. Prior to that she taught in Japan for eight years, teaching English and developing community programming as part of the JET Program and fostering students’ 21st century skills in an afterschool program. After returning to the states, she worked with international students as an admissions advisor in Dallas, TX and pursued graduate studies with a focus on education research, social-emotional development, and the connection between research, policy, and practice.
She holds a BA in English from Austin College and a Master’s in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
