Cary (he/him) is the National Director of Teacher Leadership Development, helping craft Teach Plus’ vision for growing and developing teacher leaders to improve the practice of their colleagues and outcomes for their students. Prior to this, he worked as a National Instructional Leadership Coach, supporting teacher leaders in growing their ability to lead change and to skillfully facilitate the learning of their peers.
Before coming to Teach Plus, Cary worked in Washington, DC, as a middle and high school mathematics teacher, instructional coach, and dean. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, eating, and boring his wife and daughter with details on the history of math.
Cary holds a BA in Mathematics and Literature from Claremont McKenna College in California and an MAT in Secondary Math Education from American University in Washington, D.C.
