Michael Fasano-McCarron (he/him) joins Teach Plus as Director of Communications & Digital Strategy for Pennsylvania. He leads communications across the Commonwealth, helping Teach Plus Pennsylvania share its story, strengthen its public presence, and connect with educators, policymakers, partners, donors, and community members. Working alongside teacher leaders and colleagues, Michael turns complex policy and advocacy work into clear, engaging stories. His work helps ensure Pennsylvania educators are at the center of conversations about the policies affecting their students, schools, and communities.
Across his career, Michael has been deeply committed to nonprofit organizations working directly in local communities to make a meaningful difference. Before joining Teach Plus in 2026, he served as Director of Advancement at Council for Relationships, leading communications, marketing, and fundraising efforts that connected people with accessible, high-quality mental health care; earlier, as Marketing & Development Manager at the Boston Alliance of LGBTQ+ Youth (BAGLY), he advanced the organization’s work supporting LGBTQ+ young people across Massachusetts. Michael began his career teaching high school English at Spring-Ford Area High School in Royersford, Pennsylvania. His years in the classroom showed him that a teacher’s impact reaches far beyond the classroom—shaping students’ lives, supporting their families, and strengthening entire communities—and that educators’ voices belong at the center of decisions about the future of public education.
Michael holds a B.S. in Secondary Education and Social Studies, with a focus on medieval history, from Temple University. A lifelong Philadelphian, he lives in South Philadelphia with his husband and remains steadfast in his belief that Philadelphia is the greatest city in human history. Outside of work, Michael is passionate about sports, music, reading, and perfecting his chicken stock.
