Jeneen Hatoum joins Teach Plus on October 5th as the Michigan Manager of Policy and Programs, where she will support efforts to elevate teacher voice, develop teacher leaders, and advance policies that strengthen educational opportunities for students across the state. In this role, she will lead policy and program initiatives, build partnerships across Michigan’s education ecosystem, and facilitate opportunities for educators to shape solutions to pressing challenges in education.
Prior to joining Teach Plus, Jeneen served in education leadership roles spanning K–12 teaching, school and district administration, nonprofit leadership, and statewide education initiatives. Her work has focused on developing educator leaders, designing and facilitating professional learning, advancing postsecondary access and attainment, and bringing educators and cross-sector partners together to influence policy and systems change. She led statewide initiatives that supported school counselors and administrators, and worked with educators and education leaders on issues including FAFSA completion, dual enrollment, college and career pathways, and educational equity.
Jeneen holds a BA in Spanish from Michigan State University and MEd in leadership and supervision from Loyola University Chicago. She resides in East Lansing, MI, where she enjoys following collegiate and professional sports, practicing hot yoga, and taking on DIY projects around her home.
