California Network and Teacher Mobilization Manager

Lanae Jimenez

As the California Network and Teacher Mobilization Manager, Lanae will manage the CEDAN Network and champion the work of the incredible alumni of the Teach Plus California programs. As a proud alum herself, having served as an Emergent Bilingual Change Agent fellow in 2023-2024 and as a Policy Fellow in 2024-2025, she recognizes the importance of uplifting the work of inspiring educators and ensuring they have the platform to influence education reform.

Lanae had the privilege of serving as an English and ELD teacher at Azusa High School in Azusa, California for ten years. During her tenure, her greatest passion was to advocate for her school’s Newcomer students, ensuring they had the support and resources they needed to succeed. She served as a representative for English learners on her school’s leadership team, and developed and facilitated professional learning sessions on collaborative classroom conversations, schoolwide writing initiatives, implementing the ELD standards, and building community. She was Azusa High School’s teacher of the year in 2017-2018, and credits so much of the person she is today to her years in the classroom.

Lanae earned her B.A. in Literature and Writing Studies and Single-Subject Teaching Credential in English from California State University, San Marcos, and her M.A. in English from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
