Laura Nishida Myers is the CITEL Managing Director of Learning at Teach Plus, where she will lead the Community of Practice for the Center for Inspired Teaching and Exceptional Learning, designing the sessions and convenings that bring pilot teams together and translating their insights into practical resources for the field.
Throughout her career, she has held two convictions: that every student deserves an education that equips them to navigate and contribute to the world around them, and that every educator deserves the preparation and support to deliver it.
Prior to joining Teach Plus, Laura spent more than fifteen years supporting educators at the school, district, and post-secondary levels. She began as a 2010 Teach For America corps member teaching middle school math at YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, then became the district’s Mathematics Content Specialist, leading curriculum, professional learning, and coaching while building the systems and teacher-leadership structures that strengthened instruction across schools. Most recently, as Director of Instructional Supports at Gradient Learning, she led the team that helped educators across the country put high-quality instructional materials into practice in ways that built lasting skills and supported leaders in creating the conditions for teachers to succeed.
Laura holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
