Rachel Hathaway

Rachel Hathaway has been with Teach Plus since 2014, starting with the organization as the Indiana Policy Associate before transitioning to Coordinator, Program Manager, and now Indiana Executive Director. Prior to coming to Teach Plus, Rachel served as an AmeriCorps VISTA Fellow in the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office of Education Innovation, where she helped engage Indianapolis students in STEM programming through the implementation of the City of Indianapolis VEX Robotics Championship and supported the pre-opening process for Mayor authorized charter schools. Previous to the Mayor’s Office, she managed the coordination of the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Non-profit Expo helping to connect Indianapolis non-profits with volunteers, interns, and potential employees from the community. Rachel graduated from IUPUI in 2013 with a degree in Public Affairs. She is passionate about community building and believes education plays an essential role in positively impacting students, families, and communities. She is excited to be in a position where she can support teachers across Indiana for the benefit of the overall state and the teaching profession.
