Stacey McAdoo

Stacey McAdoo is Teach Plus’ Arkansas Executive Director and the 2019 Arkansas Teacher of the Year. Prior to coming to Teach Plus, she spent 19 years in the Little Rock School District (the largest urban district in the state) as an accomplished classroom practitioner, college and career readiness coordinator, and the lead secondary novice mentor teacher for the entire district. As the Arkansas Professor-in-Residence for Reach University and a professional development facilitator of over two decades, Stacey continues to design and lead sessions that focus on best practices, instructional strategies, interpersonal communication, empowering student and teacher voices, and promoting equity & the success of diverse learners.

Stacey is the founder of The Writeous Poets (a spoken word & youth advocacy collective) and an appointed board member of the Central Arkansas Library System, Children, Youth and Families Commission and the National Arts in Education Advisory Council. 

Stacey holds a BA in Professional & Technical Writing, a MA in Teaching, and an EdS in Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, & Professional Development. She lives in Little Rock with her husband, Leron, and they are the proud parents of Norel and Jamee.
