Kimmy Tremlett

Kimmy joins Teach Plus as the Massachusetts Manager, Policy and Programs, where she will lead and manage the Massachusetts Policy Fellowship and other teacher leadership programs, customizing and facilitating high-quality learning experiences and programming. She will work alongside the MA Executive Director, fellows, teacher leaders, alumni, community partners, and key local coalition members to equip teachers with the skills and competencies necessary to advance systems change. She will coach and support teacher leaders to develop and advocate for research-informed policy recommendations that create opportunities for all students to achieve their potential in an equitable education system.

Before joining Teach Plus as a Policy Fellow in 2023, Kimmy was an Elementary School Educator and Special Educator for 14 years. She taught Grades 2, 3, and 4 in an SEI classroom setting. Kimmy was the District Co-Lead of the Belonging and School Culture Advocates Team for Framingham Public Schools. She was the Coordinator for the ESY SOAR K-5 Summer Program and the chairperson for ADL’s No Place for Hate Program. In 2023, Kimmy received the Talent of the Year award for her work and advocacy as an educator in her district. Prior to working in the classroom, Kimmy worked in the ECI Department at Boston Ballet in community outreach programs such as Citydance, Taking Steps, Boys in Motion, and the Adaptive Dance programs, which provided the unique opportunity to work with many students and schools in the Boston and Greater Boston area, producing opportunities for students through the arts.

Kimmy holds a BA in French and Francophone Studies, a BA in Dance, and a MAT in Teaching from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She also holds teaching licenses, which include a Massachusetts State Elementary Education Grades 1-6 license, Massachusetts State Special Education Moderate Disabilities license, and the RETELL SEI Endorsement. Kimmy lives in the greater Boston area.
