The Teach Plus Colorado Charter Teacher Policy Fellowship is a highly selective leadership opportunity for charter school educators who are ready to deepen their knowledge of education policy and play a role in shaping decisions that affect students, schools, and the teaching profession.
About the Fellowship
10-month program starting in August 2025.
Fellows continue teaching while expanding their influence.
Monthly 2-hour virtual sessions with guest speakers, advocacy training, and working groups.
Additional working group meetings and opportunities to engage with policymakers.
Two in-person retreats to strengthen collaboration and advocacy.
No prior policy experience required.
Unlocking Impact: The Power of Teacher Advocacy
Fellows receive training and hands-on experience in:
Understanding education policy as a tool for student success.
Leading advocacy efforts to improve public education in Colorado.
Writing op-eds and engaging with the media.
Providing public testimony and meeting with policymakers.
Teach Plus connects fellows with decision-makers and platforms to propose policy solutions, share expertise, and drive meaningful change.
Who Should Apply?
Teach Plus seeks a diverse cohort of educators from the following charter networks/schools:
Have at least two years of classroom experience and plan to continue teaching during the 2025-26 school year.
Are committed to equity in education and improving outcomes for all students.
Have strong communication skills and a solutions-oriented approach to advocacy.
Are passionate about strengthening public education through educator-led policy solutions.
