Aaron Stone began his professional journey with the purpose of service. He started his venture by joining the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, while also pursuing and beginning his teaching career as an 8th-grade biology teacher at Community Charter School of Cambridge. After three years, he joined Boston Day and Evening Academy in 2009, a school that re-engages students who are off-track in their education. Aaron believes it is important to continually strive to grow, and allow for new perspective by taking on new opportunities. Aaron has been a Boston Teachers Union Representative, and a member of the school’s Election to Work Committee, Instructional Leadership Team, Administrative Leadership Team, and BPS cross-functional team researching district-wide autonomy. Additionally, Aaron has recently finished earning his Principal Licensure. Through these experiences, Aaron returns to the classroom fulltime, ready to utilize a broadened perspective and deeper understanding of leadership, equity, and student and staff voice, aiming to create more entry points for students to be active participants in their change process. Aaron earned both his B.S. in Biology and M.Ed. from the University of New Hampshire, and his Principal Licensure from Northeastern University in partnership with the Center for Collaborative Education.
