Jean Carlos Acuña is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and is a Spanish as a Second Language teacher for 11th and 12th grades at Saginaw United School in Saginaw. He was a lead instructor for professional development courses, focusing on integrating neuroeducation principles into classroom practices to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Jean received Teacher of the Year for Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje, Sena 2022 in Colombia. He served as the head of the Spanish Language Department at his previous school, where he implemented innovative teaching methods and organized cultural exchange programs. Jean earned his BS in education from Colombo Americano University and his MB in psychology and neuroeducation from Unir University.
