Shannon Adams is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Indiana Policy Fellow who teaches advanced life science to 10th-12th graders at Martinsville High School in Martinsville, IN, focusing on Project Lead The Way and AP. As district co-coordinator in STEM and the high school science department chair, she focuses on problem-based, high-quality critical thinking programming for all students. Additionally, she serves as local teachers union president and was formerly an American Physiological Society fellow. She was named the MSD of Martinsville 2022 Teacher of the Year, MHS. Shannon serves on the Board of Trustees for AFT Indiana and holds her Administrator’s License, which includes a certification in Education Law. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from Vincennes University, her Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science Education from Western Governors University, and Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration, Education Law from Indiana University.
