Addison Old is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Teacher Network Fellow who teaches 5th grade in Austin, Texas. She also previously taught fifth grade for two years at an academic magnet school in Nashville, Tennessee. On her campus, she serves as a mentor teacher, team leader, and the math committee co-chair. Addison also represents her campus on the district Advocacy Advisory Committee, ensuring that teacher and student voices are heard at the district level. With a passion for education policy, Addison served as both a Teach Plus Texas Senior Fellow and Policy Fellow. Her advocacy focused on social-emotional learning during virtual learning and teacher preparation. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BS in Elementary Education and Human and Organizational Development and received her MPP in Education Policy from Vanderbilt University.
