Olutope Aghedo

Olutope Aghedo is a 2023-24 Teach Plus Texas Houston Policy Fellow. Olutope is a 9th grade teacher, departmental chair at South Early College in Houston, Texas. He teaches mathematics including algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, precalculus with student-advisor responsibility. He began his teaching career in Houston with Region IV Region 4 Teacher Certification, teaching mathematics, was appointed as mentor teacher in his second year; and since taught various grades from 9th and 12th. He was a member of STEM Accelerator in collaboration with Houston Community College (2018) and is a Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellowship alumnus. Outside the classroom, Olutope also volunteers to mentor college students to raise future leaders that possess moral aptitude and strong people management skills. He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering at Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria; MS in Industrial Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe Arizona State; and International Production Management at Technical University of Hamburg, Germany.
