Amanda Kirshner is a Teach Plus Illinois Teaching Policy Fellow. Amanda teaches in a kindergarten and 1st grade multi-age classroom at Prescott Elementary School where she is also a local school council teacher representative, professional personnel leadership committee co-chair, and co-sponsor of the drama and Girls on The Run clubs. She has previously taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. Amanda is a National Board Certified teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy and serves on the Golden Apple Foundation’s Alumni Relations Council. She graduated from the University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign with a BA in Elementary Education and earned her MA in Reading from Northeastern Illinois University.
