Lauren Anderson is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Indiana Policy Fellow and a 1st grade teacher and phonics content leader at KIPP Indy Unite Elementary in Indianapolis. She focuses on developing a love for learning and foundational literacy skills in emerging readers, including bilingual learners, as well as supporting her fellow educators in developing their skills in reading instruction. She has previously served as a grade-level chair and a member of the Teacher Leader Taskforce for improving student data collection and analysis. Lauren received her school’s 2020 Teacher of Excellence award for Essential Content. She is a Teach for America Corps alumna and began her career teaching 1st grade. She began teaching 1st grade as a Teach for America corps member in 2019. She is SIOP certified and is completing her LETRS Science of Reading certification. Lauren earned her BA in English from University of Illinois, Chicago. She completed her MA in teaching, elementary education at Relay Graduate School of Education.
