Andrea Burke is a 6th grade teacher at Knox Elementary in South Los Angeles, where she currently serves as grade level chair, school technology liaison, Common Core teacher facilitator, educational grant writer, and mentor teacher. Andrea focuses on assisting her students and colleagues in reaching their academic and professional goals by working to obtain and deliver the resources necessary to provide educational excellence. A strong believer in quality inner-city education, Andrea has worked in both Downtown (Skid Row area) and South Los Angeles during her 14-year career as a teacher. She has taught 5th and 6th grade at two elementary schools, where she set up programs surrounding educational technology to support student learning and behavioral management. Andrea graduated from Whittier College with a BA in psychology and from University of Southern California (USC) with an MA in education.
