Andrea Oliver is a Teach Plus Maryland Teaching Policy Fellow. She teaches 2nd grade at Valley View Elementary school in Prince George’s County, Maryland, where she also serves as a liaison and translator for Spanish speaking parents at her school. Andrea has previously taught grades pre-K through 8th in both public and charter schools in Washington, D.C., and was a member of the U.S. Peace Corps teaching English in the rural villages of Zimbabwe. She has also served as a member of the AmeriCorp with the Building Blocks program in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Andrea graduated from Marymount College of Fordham University with a BA in English and concentration in creative writing, and earned an MA in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from New York University.
