Olimpia Bahena is a 2022-23 Illinois Distributed Leadership Fellow and Principal at Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy in Chicago, Illinois. She focuses on developing a school organization in the areas of dual language, personalized learning, and fine arts integration to promote the whole child’s development with an approach of equity and social justice. Olimpia was one of the two first Latina educators in Chicago to earn National Board Certification. She is the President of Working in the Schools and serves as a board member of the Latino Leadership Pipeline. Olimpia earned a BA in Administration in Mexico City, a MA in Education with a bilingual teaching credential from Columbia College Chicago, and a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
