Lance Barasch is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Leading Edge Educator Fellow. He is a high school algebra and precalculus teacher at the Townview School of Science and Engineering in Dallas, Texas, where he also serves as the 9th grade department chair. Lance has spent 16 years in the classroom teaching high school math and previously worked as a research assistant at the Simmons School of Education at Southern Methodist University. He is a Teach Plus Senior Writing Fellow, an alumnus of the Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellowship, and previously served as a Senior Policy Fellow with that program. He earned his BS in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma and his MEd in STEM-focused education from Southern Methodist University. Lance’s op-eds have appeared in the Dallas Express, The Dallas Morning News, and The Hechinger Report.
