Amy Beatty is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and a 4th grade math and English language arts learning support teacher at South Allegheny Elementary School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She currently serves as Team Lead of the Special Education Department, as well as a mentor teacher to both a student teacher and first-year teacher. Amy’s academic focus is to provide quality instruction to students with various disabilities. She began her teaching career in 2002 as a full-time emotional support teacher in a private school setting and has spent the past 19 years with South Allegheny School District in both general and special education. Amy was named Mon River Fleet’s Women of Achievement’s Educational Leader (2016). She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from Clarion University.
