Brianna Copley is a Special Education teacher at Anacostia Senior High School in DCPS. She teaches reading to students with emotional disturbance and severe learning disabilities in the school’s Behavior and Emotional Support program, and is the special education department chair at Anacostia. Brianna is passionate about helping students with disabilities improve their reading, writing, and thinking skills, as well as finding ways to improve their overall access to opportunities inside and outside of school. She was a fellow at the National Academy of Advanced Teacher Education and an Academy Content Instructor for The New Teacher Project (TNTP). Brianna recently served on the Chancellor’s Teacher’s Cabinet in DCPS and is a Family Engagement Collaborative Fellow. She holds a BA in psychology from Midland University, an MTS from Harvard Divinity School, and an MEd from George Mason University.
