Cara R. Salvant is working on a special education system that will provide tools for teaching staff and increase academic achievement. Cara currently teaches reading intervention for grades 3 through 8 at Curtis School of Excellence, where she also serves as the school’s case manager, is a member of the instructional lead team, and provides coaching and support to special education teachers. Previously, Cara was a special education teacher working with students in kindergarten through 5th grade; and was a mentor teacher with the AUSL teacher training program. She graduated from Houghton College with a BA in psychology, and earned a MA in clinical psychology, a MA in teaching, and a MA in education with a reading specialist endorsement from the same institution.
