Bekky Carter is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. She teaches 8th grade, biology, and Advanced Placement biology at Chaparral Star Academy in Austin, Texas. Bekky’s goal is to enhance students’ awareness and understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics careers. She is a member of her campus’ School and Safety Committee. Bekky began her teaching career in Austin as a special education teacher for middle school. She earned her BS in biology from Concordia University Texas.
