Rebekka Carter is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Bekky teaches 6th and 7th grade science, biology I, honors biology I, and AP Biology at Chaparral Star Academy in Austin. During her 11-year tenure as a teacher, Bekky has also worked as a special education science teacher. In addition to her curricular work, she also coaches students in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl team. Bekky enjoys curating her students’ development over several years in her classroom to help them reach their full potential. Bekky is primarily motivated to further the causes of teacher pay equity and protection of students with learning differences. Bekky has her BS in biology from Concordia University Texas.
