Erika Cedeno is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow. She teaches Spanish at Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita California, as well as is the chair of the World Languages Department and co-coordinator for English learners. Erika is an alumna of the Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent Network (EBCAN). She spent many years teaching in Mexico City, working with students from kindergarten through college. Erika was Teacher of the Year in Mexico City (1999) and Golden Valley High School/William S. Hart District Teacher of the Year (2024-2025). She holds an education BS in Spanish language and linguistics from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, master’s in leadership and management of schools from Cardenal Herrera University/Valencia in Spain, Single Subject Credential in Spanish Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD) from San Diego University, and Bilingual Authorization (BILA) from Riverside University.
