Celeste Murray is a Teach Plus New Mexico Teaching Policy Fellow. Celeste teaches 11th grade English and AP Literature and Composition at Farmington High School, where she sponsors Sunset Writers, an academic club that fosters creative writing and spoken word performances. Celeste is a member of her school’s 90-day plan committee and works as a mentor teacher to improve the success of new teacher. She is a teacher coach for the New Mexico Public Education Department Teachers Pursuing Excellence program, and has helped to create pacing guides and interim testing. Celeste has earned five Red Apple Awards though nominations by her students, their families, and faculty peers. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in English Literature and Composition and is currently pursuing her MSEd degree with a focus on teacher leadership from Walden University.
