Ana Chavira is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. Ana is a kindergarten Spanish literacy teacher at Glenwood Springs Elementary School in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. She focuses on teaching children in the areas of bilingual and bicultural development, and social emotional learning in order to foster their self-efficacy and help them find their voice. She is also focused on mentoring future teacher graduates of Colorado Mountain College, promoting excellence and equity in our profession. Ana was awarded the Colorado Educator Talent Pool Award in 2018. She earned her BA in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education bilingual teaching credential from Colorado Mountain College.
