Christina Nitsos is a 2019-20 Teach Plus California Senior Policy Fellow. Christina teaches 1st grade at Lafayette Elementary School in Lafayette, California, and is a research advisor for St. Mary’s College Teaching Leadership Program helping guide candidates through their action research projects. She co-leads the district’s professional learning community for K-8 teachers focused on mathematics instruction, working to refine instructional practices and identify innovative ways to encourage students to apply reasoning and logic to problem solving. Christina has been a guest lecturer for St. Mary’s College Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Program. Christina was a part of the 2018-19 Teach Policy Fellowship cohort and worked on issues of induction and support for new teacher. She earned her BA from San Jose State University, and her teaching credential and MA in Teaching Leadership from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California.
